A Vision for Forest Lake’s Future

Forest Lake has always been more than just a place to live—it’s where families build their lives, businesses invest in their future, and neighbors come together to create a strong community. Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of helping plan for our city’s future and working alongside local leaders, organizations, and residents to move Forest Lake forward.

As I seek another term on the City Council, my focus remains on practical, common-sense leadership that prepares our community not just for today, but for the next generation. My priorities are built around six key pillars.

Reliable Infrastructure

A growing city requires infrastructure that residents can depend on every day. Roads, bridges, water systems, stormwater infrastructure, and public utilities are some of the most important investments a city can make. Delaying maintenance only increases costs for taxpayers in the future.

My goal is to:

• Prioritize repairing and replacing aging infrastructure before emergencies arise.

• Improve road conditions and traffic flow while planning for future growth.

• Invest responsibly in water, sewer, and stormwater systems that protect homes and businesses.

• Make strategic transportation improvements that enhance safety for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.

• Strong infrastructure is the foundation of a strong community.

Proactive Public Safety

Nothing is more important than ensuring our residents feel safe at home, at school, and throughout our community.

Supporting public safety means more than simply responding to emergencies—it means preparing for them before they happen.

I will continue working to:

• Fully support our police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel with the tools and resources they need.

• Strengthen partnerships between public safety agencies and the community.

• Support programs that help prevent crime and improve neighborhood safety.

• Ensure our emergency response services keep pace with the city’s continued growth.

• Safe neighborhoods create stronger families and stronger communities.

Smart Economic Growth

Economic development should benefit everyone. By attracting quality businesses and supporting local entrepreneurs, we can create jobs, expand our tax base, and reduce the burden on homeowners.

My priorities include:

• Revitalizing our downtown to make it a destination for residents and visitors.

• Encouraging new restaurants, retail, and service businesses that complement our community.

• Supporting existing local businesses and removing unnecessary barriers to growth.

• Planning for responsible commercial and residential development that strengthens the city’s financial future.

• Growth should be intentional—not rushed—and should preserve the character that makes Forest Lake unique.

Responsible Housing Solutions

Housing continues to be one of the biggest challenges facing communities across Minnesota. Forest Lake should offer housing opportunities for young families, seniors looking to downsize, and members of our workforce without sacrificing neighborhood character.

I support:

• Thoughtfully planned affordable and workforce housing.

• Development that fits naturally within existing neighborhoods.

• Encouraging a variety of housing options while maintaining high standards for quality.

• Long-term planning that balances growth with available infrastructure and city services.

• Smart planning today helps avoid costly challenges tomorrow.

Preserving Our Parks & Lakes

Forest Lake’s natural resources define who we are. Our lakes, trails, parks, and open spaces improve our quality of life and make our community a place people are proud to call home.

My experience working with the Comfort Lake-Forest Lake Watershed District has reinforced the importance of protecting these resources.

I will continue working to:

• Protect water quality through responsible watershed management.

• Preserve and improve our parks and recreational spaces.

• Support conservation efforts that benefit future generations.

• Balance development with environmental stewardship.

We have a responsibility to leave our natural resources better than we found them.

Transparent Leadership & Responsible Spending

Residents deserve a city government that is open, honest, and accountable.

I believe every tax dollar should be treated with respect, and city leaders should clearly explain how and why decisions are made.

That means:

• Practicing fiscal responsibility by prioritizing essential infrastructure and public safety before non-essential projects.

• Keeping residents informed through transparent communication.

• Listening to community input before making major decisions.

• Making decisions based on facts, long-term planning, and what is best for Forest Lake.
